It was going to just stay in it's foam caddy in the glovebox and be taken out occasionally to sync. This was a 5.5G iPod that I just got this week specifically to live in my motorcycle. Just occasionally sync with iTunes when I need to add new music. Having my music on a dedicated device that won't be changed or updated and break functionality, and will always work on old docks, in my motorcycle, in my car no signal needed. Plus, streaming services require a signal and downloading a large library takes up space that I'd rather leave for photos and videos. Easy enough to adapt to lighting but the glovebox doesn't fit modern sized smartphones. My motorcycle has an iPod connector in the glovebox. This is, for me, the thing an iPod classic can do that nothing else can do.
